HELLO
Hi, I’m very grateful to introduce myself to the salt water community. I’m Ambre-Victoire Damestoy (yeah it’s a bit long) currently in quarantine in a small town in Jawa West which is a great place to be stuck for me. By the way I’m sending a lot of courage to all my friends and the surf community all around the world who cannot surf. Stay strong in this transitional time of our era.
I left Europe last November and started my trip by Morocco hunting some point breaks. Sick of wearing a wetsuit I took one way ticket for Sri Lanka after Christmas, and ended up in Indonesia in March.
A little bit about my background, coming from dancing, I’ve found another way of expression since I’m travelling through Surf and Yoga. Yoga became a massive anchor since I’ve started my nomad’s life, as much as the ocean is a life balance.
Just another way of expression which make me vibrate. When I surf, specially on the longboard, it’s like a meditation that brings me back to the now.
Artist, Surfer and yogi, I’m always looking for living what I love and releasing my emotions.
My intuition is probably the thing that I trust the most, it brought me here and I’m grateful for where I am. Going on an adventure around the world letting the life surprising me is my way of experimenting freedom. (It’s also not the best thing to feel safe and stable…but I enjoy it).
Creativity is a big part of my life. Drawing, as much as surfing, is an intuitive experience. My pencil has to be smooth and slide on the paper to create a line with curves and flow.
Self expression has always been a necessity and through surfing, practicing yoga and drawing I could create a bit of a structure in my unorganized and unpredictable life guided by my impulsive desires but also deepest dreams.
Those disciplines are guiding me through my journey and I’m very grateful I could choose to follow this path because it brings me on the right track.
Home is just a feeling where my heart resonate with the vibes of the places and the people I choose to spend time with.
